Boomwhackers Tuned Percussion Tubes are brightly coloured plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes. Easy to play (people with virtually no musical or rhythmical ability find they are able to make music with ease) and loads of fun, they are fantastic instruments for ice breaking, team-building and uplifting conferences for virtually any number of people.

Why would we want to use them? It’s great way to encourage dialogue at a meeting, conference or team building session as within minutes people are smiling, feeling relaxed and forming relationships with other members of the group.

So how can we use them? Boomwhackers are one of the great ice breaker activities that provide a great example of what a small or a large group can achieve musically in a short space of time. With them we are able to create a melody, find a rhythm and cultivate listening.

I’m sorry but how can plastic tubes sound good? Somewhere in sound between a xylophone and a marimba, boomwhackers are subtle, versatile and colourful.

Playing music together reduces stress, develops our understanding and willingness to work as a team.

Exercises of this nature are enjoyable experiences and prove to be beneficial in the workplace.
